Kia Ora,
The Ministry of Social Development has released this information to the ethnic business owners and the wider business community regarding COVID Relief efforts.
The Employer Wage Subsidy is helping keep businesses going if they face laying off staff or reducing their hours because of COVID-19. If you’re an employer, contractor, sole trader or are self-employed you may qualify for the subsidy. The subsidy is paid as a lump sum payment for the employer to pass on to employees, and covers 12 weeks per employee.
The Ministry of Social Development is doing its best to get these payments to business as quickly as possible. For more information including how to apply for the Employer Wage Subsidy visit: https://workandincome.govt.nz/products/a-z-benefits/covid-19-support.html
MSD is also keen to understand businesses: :
Who have applied for the wage subsidy and is still waiting for a response/ outcome
Who have not applied for the wage subsidy and why
and
Any other business concerns
